I’ve been playing around on my new website a bit. Still have a bunch to learn about wordpress when it’s not on wordpress.com but I am enjoying setting this up. Well, here is a report with pictures of our last walk in the woods:

Most interesting how this has been coded. I’m out of town right now and only have an iPad. I use the Mercury browser on the pad, instead of Safari, because Mercury will sync with my PCs Firefox bookmarks. Obviously, Safari is still on the pad, since it can’t be deleted and it is still the default browser. Enough backstory.
Here’s what happens when I bring up this page in Mercury and click on the link you provided to the latest post on TRH:
Safari launches, creates a new page, and displays the Google map in full page view with the marker neatly centered on the map. There’s nothing else in Safari associated with the new post.
When I switch back to Mercury, voila, there’s the TRH post! Oh, the space allocated for the Google map is there, but it’s totally blank!

okay – you beat me to it! Last night I thought I should check this site out on my iPad and make sure it is rendering properly. But I thought, who’s going to read this site with an iPad any time soon? I’ve got plenty of time to check this out… 🙂
I am not sure it’s a client side problem – might be me miss configuring the wordpress plugin for mobile devices. Seems like everything in WP is a plugin you have to install. On wordpress.com they pre-configure everything but when you’re out on your own it’s more work. I am learning a lot about wordpress which is fun but sometimes feel buried in details. I tell you, if I ever get this all figured out I am going to start hiring myself out as a web coder.
