Wednesday Woodworking – the Cattery

It started out as a being our new sun room, but has morphed into our new cattery.  The kittens were living in our guest room.  With human guests arriving, we’ve relocated the cats and now our new sun room is the cattery.  Here are a couple of quick pictures from my iPhone.

The outside fully painted.

The contractor did most of the heavy work on this while Heather and I did all the painting.  It was a big job.

The cats seem to be liking it and we have some improvements in mind to make it even better.  More about that in future Wednesday Woodworking sections.

If you need me – I’ll be in the shop,

Andrew

  1. Hi Andrew. Not being a pet keeper I can’t see your excitement. But it looks good. Thank you for liking my poem Free! Peace and Best Wishes. The Foureyed Poet.

You do know that they may never leave that room, don’t you? I mean, cats love looking outside. The more windows the better.

May my cat never hear of this. His big luxury is a tattered and worn Lazyboy Recliner and a special treat of canned food three times per week. Oh, and a collection catnip mousey toys, of whom half are perpetually missing … all called MeeMee.

You are a very kind and generous pet owner Andrew. Thank you for sharing.

  13. A cat door, their own watering dish (automated it appears), probably just the right temperature? What could you possibly be planning to add? Have the cats complained about something?

    • If you want a life of luxury, just become one of our cats. And the cats would like more things to climb on – kitty ramps and overhead cat walks next.
