Wednesday Woodworking – Cat Bench

With Camp Gran getting into full swing, woodworking is taking a backseat.  I did manage one project over the weekend, a bench just outside the new kitty door to their room.

Here it is:

Cat door leading to the kitty garden.

Cat door leading to the kitty garden.

Now when the kitties leave their new room they don’t have to step through all that yucky dirt before coming into their nice clean room.

I am a little concerned about the sun.  You see this door is on the south side of the house and later in the day will have fun sun on it, so  I am thinking of making a kitty sized awning to protect my little ones from the sun as they come and go.

and there is a chance it might rain this winter so maybe some storm shutters too…

If you need me, I’ll be in the shop,
Andrew

I thought I was over the top taking care of my cat. I close the blinds to protect her from the hot sun. But you top me by a mile. Lucky cats!

Kitties don’t mind the rain or sun, but I bet they’d love an awning. You may even see one sleeping on the step if s/he doesn’t have to think about heat or rain.

  3. I can believe the awning, but storm shutters? Where’s the little mat to wipe their paws? Even though you can’t construct that from wood.
