Friday Woodworking – The knot is tied

The Celtic heart shaped box is done.  This was a pain to cut and didn’t turn out exactly the way I wanted, but I learned a lot.  Here are some pictures of the box.

Marquetry glued down and finish applied.

The top swings open. Not sure I like this, but the effect is interesting.

And finally, here is a peek at the next project on the bench:

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Day.

  7. This is a beautiful box. My uncle used to do wood working projects like this. He made me boxes and doll furniture.

His gifts were always special to me. I enjoy seeing what projects you are working on. There is an element of humanity in hand crafted wood that is lost in the mass produced junk.

Thank you for sharing and for visiting my little corner of WordPess.

    Much love,

That is beautiful. I tried to do it side by side with beads for a bracelet, but got toooo confusing. Yours is great. I always wanted to do the arts and crafts.. I can’t sit for more than a half an hour.. so it’s got to have a short rhythm so I can get my muscle memory going.

That is a beautiful box Andrew. Are you going to put some soft e.g. Felt cladding inside.
It would then make a beautiful jewellery box.:)
