Friday Wisdom – The Here After

After father moved into a retirement home, he would often say:

I believe in the “here after.” Every time I walk into a room, I ask, “What am I here after?”

How many of you believe in the “Here after?”

More wisdom next Friday,

Andrew

  8. Ten years ago, I would have chuckled at that, thinking it was an old person’s issue. Now, I’m nodding in agreement. Yikes!

I’m not even in a retirement home yet and I’ve experienced the “here after.” At least now I can remember this humorous take on the situation.

I went to a retired staff coffee morning the other day, and the number of people who, in their dreams, had had meaningful conversations with their recently dead parents was extremely reassuring…

  12. There used to be a comedy TV show called “Laugh-In” and one of the skits often had an old lecherous type sitting on a park bench. I woman would come along and sit on the other end of the bench. He would ask her: “Do you believe in the hereafter?” She would nod politely. Then he would say, as he sidled up closer to her: “Then you know what I’m here after….” She would then whack him with her purse……
