Friday Wisdom – English Major

On announcing to my father that I was going to get a BA in English, he replied:

“Well, an English Major is better than being a Canadian Captain.”

Thanks dad.

  3. Wise words. ‘Captain’ means so many different things, depending upon the service. On my daughter’s several ships, the Captain may or may not (and usually not) be a Captain in rank, despite being Captain in name.

Andrew…My Dad died when I was 3….I’m 66 now. I have only a precious few memories of him ( yes a two year old can remember ). Thank you so very much for sharing some of your Dad memories with all of us!

  8. From one English major to another, that is hilarious! I think my father said, “Just don’t become self-employed.” Too late! Lol
