Wednesday Woodworking – Back to the Garden

After being a little busy with little libraries, I am back to the cutting garden project.

Here is one of the planter boxes with seedlings:

Heather has started one box of seedlings.

Saturday we went to the big box store and bought some of the framing material for the garden area.

Oh look a bunch of 2x4s. Exciting isn't it?

All that goes here:

The pop-up was Heather's idea so I could work there all day in the shade.

and if that wasn’t enough going on, I managed to get a little bit of time back on my mystery project.

Oh look, a bunch of clamps!

Yes, my table saw doubles as my assembly table.  Please don’t tell my shop teacher  – he’d freak to see a bottle of glue near a saw.

If you need me – I’ll be in the shop,
Andrew

  1. I so love watching stuff grow that we planted ourselves. And then being able to eat food that we grew is amazing. Now if we had built the planters ourselves too….wow. You’re ahead of the class.

That’s an interesting bar clamp holder, Andrew.
LOL, I look forward to seeing the mystery unveiled.

  3. Busy man, as usual. Love the term ‘big box store’. I thought that was a real estate term, but maybe not.

If I had someone making planters like that for me, I might actually plant something. But having someone else come in and plant some trees and shrubs is about the extent of my interest in the yard. Meanwhile I go around being envious of all the flowers other people have.

I love these projects. I just picked up some 1 by cedar to make a few planter boxes for my daughter.

Yes, it is a busy time in the garden. I just came in for a break from gardening this morning.
What a wonderfully serene job with bird song all around.
I love the vase behind the seedlings, beautiful colours.
