Today begins the season of Advent – the time when Christians wait for the arrival of Jesus. My Pastor approached me several weeks ago and asked if I would write some poetry for the Sunday’s in Advent. Here is the first of four poems.
In response to the first chapter of Matthew, these words touched my soul:
Thundering Darkness
In the darkness of the soul,
the beating of angel’s wings.
Thundering silence waking hope.
The dark house speaks as
two sleepers breath for three,
in life giving rest.
Waking he hears the whispers of those who have gone before.
Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Aunts and Uncles,
all speaking future joys.
A stirring hand finds his,
in comfort and concern,
reminding him to paint baby’s room.
I read this in church this morning and here is an audio clip of me reading the poem:
May peace find you and yours,
Andrew
And best wishes to you, Andrew. A thundering good piece of poetry!

You really have to get it together and publish your chapbook. And include the audio–it makes a big difference.

You’re right, got to get off me butt and get that done. For one project, I’ve researched what it would take to get an audio book done through Audible – so far it looks like I could record it myself and do it as a self-published deal.
