You said it! And the more you do things right, the more they think you’ve got an easy job.

    • Early in my electronics career I had to take a safety class from the warehouse manager so I could use the pallet jack and other stuff in the warehouse. He gave us a lesson in how to lift so we didn’t get back injuries. There was the standard, “Lift with your legs, use the back belt … ” and ended with, “grunt a bit as you lift. Grunt louder if a boss is around. Don’t let them ever think lifting is easy.”

  3. True! And its corollary: If you do something badly enough the first time, you won’t ever be asked to do it again. (That’s Hubby’s favourite strategy – his only mistake was telling me about it.) 😉

  5. Good point, Andrew. You have reinforced the old show biz adage, “Always leave them wanting more.” Have a good weekend.

In Islamic art, such as mosaics, patterns, wall decorations, carpets and so on, they always put a deliberate mistake in it, because only God has the right to produce perfection. Would this be a possible way forward for you?
