Safety tip when using a table saw: Count the number of fingers you have before and after the cut. You should have the same number in both counts. Report discrepancies to the nearest ER.
Woodworking: The practice of cutting large pieces of wood into small pieces and then gluing them back together to make a big piece.
I was looking out the shop window at a tree growing in the yard and asked myself, “Is that a son of a beech, or a son of a birch?” Just then a woodpecker flew over and said to me, “No, it’s not either, but it is the best piece of ash I’ve ever had.”
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe.
That’s not a mistake. It’s a design feature.
It looks better when viewed from six feet away.
Any one thinking money doesn’t grow on trees, hasn’t bought lumber recently.
Your first one had me worried – I thought you found a clever way to let us know you were in the ER!

No, I would have posted a picture if I’d been in the ER. 😉

Bahahaha!!! Thanks for the carpentry-related humour – I needed a chuckle today! My only carpentry project lately has been a rough trellis for my sweet peas to climb. Like all my woodworking, it ain’t pretty, but it won’t fall down! (And my finger count matched up, so it’s all good.) 😉

Sturdy is more important as is having the correct number of fingers.

Either the second one or the design feature is my favorite. 🙂

I like the design thing too. My favorite thing to say is, “I was trying for a folk art look and think it be out of square adds to the effect.”

Nice. Sort of like when I burn food, I call it cajun.

That’s why most pension funds invest in timber land! Nicely done.

I tell you, go to the lumberyard and see how they profit from that.

Believe me, I know. I built a cabin last year. Talk about inflation!

Love the woodpecker joke and it was great to meet you on Zoom on Wednesday. I hope you enjoyed participating as much as we enjoyed having you. Funny that you and Doug had San Jose in common.
