We’re making slow progress here on setting up the house. We’re currently working on “our rooms.” The house is big and both Heather and I wanted a lot of room for our creative work, so each of us took a bedroom. I’ve been setting up furniture in both rooms and have made some progress in my room:
The progress in the office. I have a desk, computer and chair. Now, if I can just find the bookshelves, I could unpack my books.
The biggest problem at the moment is that most of our boxes are in big pile in the garage, which makes finding things a challenge.
We did find another kitty tower and put it into the laundry room where the kitties have a nice big window to look out of. It’s a difficult transition for them as we can’t let them go outside here – too many coyotes and other predators that would like them for a snack – so we’re doing our best to give them nice places to be in the house.

I don’t know when I’ll get back to regular posts or all the new stuff I’m thinking of doing. Given that I’m now officially retired, I’m taking it slow to adjust and get things just right.

It all looks so lovely. I hope the kitties won’t go stir crazy. Be sure not to step on the cat when you get out of bed. Everyone would be awake then.

So far the kitties are adapting and the cat bed is on my wife’s side so I never have to worry about stepping on the cat.

You’re making great progress – your new workspace will be wonderful when it’s done. And that photo of Spotty Kitty is adorable, with all the little black paw pads on display. It made me go, “Awwww…” 🙂

Having your own space is wonderful! Enjoy taking your time to unpack. It’s one of the benefits of retirement – setting your own schedule.

Having your own creative room is pure heaven. Jack and I have that luxury and it is bliss to be able to just walk out of the mess (that will invariably happen) and shut the door. Your cats look settled ok

Ohmygosh, Spotty kitty is too adorable!
Your office is shaping up. My guy turned one of the bedrooms into his office (it’s the one closest to the kitchen) and I took the sunroom. It works well for us.
Question: Do we get to see your wife’s studio?

Yes, soon, but her room looks so much more put together than mine that I need to wait a few days before I post a picture of that so you won’t realize how slow I’m going on setting things up …
