It’s been crazy here. Last week Heather and I flew to Tampa to see this:

And down there, somewhere is our grandson getting his Bachelor’s degree in data science. We also went to dinner and a graduation party.
Then today, just because life is just too boring, the first construction crew came by the house to work on our kitchen and did this:

Okay, it was a demolition crew and they moved most of our kitchen into a dumpster. Some of it is still in the garage and there are a few more things to come out. My contractor sent me a schedule that has the project finished in just six weeks.
I told him he should write novels because that’s a great fiction story.
The temporary kitchen has moved to Heather’s art studio and now it’s time to see if we remember where we put the microwave. Well, if you need me, I’m looking for that stack of plates we used to own.
“I told him he should write novels because that’s a great fiction story.”–Did you really say that? I’m guessing not, but it’s a great line. And, goodness!

I actually told this to Heather, but I really wanted to say to my contractor.

That would have been challenging to say to his face. I’m glad Heather got to hear it, at least. 🙂

A little brave, likely more crazy than brave. 🙂

Wow, that’s a BIG undertaking! Six weeks is a long time to be without a kitchen, especially if that’s a “creative” estimate. Fingers crossed for you!

It is a long time. So far they are ahead of schedule so we’ll see what happens.

Six weeks, that would be FAST. Let’s see if they can do it. Hard going through it, but nice when it is completed.

That would be fast and I don’t expect it, but you never know.

Oh my, good luck on that! I see a lot of blog fodder available in the next 6 (ha-ha) weeks. But congrats to your grandson on his graduation.

Your temporary kitchen challenges should lead to some entertaining blog posts. And any contractor who commits to a time frame reminds me of “The Money Pit” w/ Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. A laugh-a-minute movie as long as you’re not in the middle of your own remodel while you’re watching it. “Two weeks!” 🙂

There going to be a lot of temporary challenges and I’m hoping this remodel doesn’t become the basis for a movie script.
