Here’s the where I am on cutting the Nativity Set:

I’ve got the stable, Mary, Joseph, the baby, a shepard, two sheep and one of the wise guys men. Just two wise men to go:

Here they are at my drill press ready to have the starting holes drilled. It’s taking me awhile to do these because I really only work an hour a day in the shed. I hope to have these finished before Christmas.
Well, that was my hope until I saw that Sheila has released an upgrade to the set that adds two angles, a camel, another shepard and a donkey to the set. I was forced to buy the extra patterns because when I saw the Facebook post about the new figures I foolishly said out loud to Heather, “Oh look, that nativity set I’m making for you has more figures now.”
Now the way I figure it, as tradition has that the wise men didn’t show up at the manger until Epiphany on January 6th so I have until then to really finish all the pieces. That gives me twelve more days to work on this before I’m considered late on the project. Jan 6th is also the date when I turn off my Christmas lights as that’s the official end of the Christmas season.
But I won’t do the whole when is Christmas really is lecture right now. Maybe later, until then, if you need me, I’ll be ordering more scroll saw blades.
Fantastic, I love seeing this. You really have a lot of patience. Beautiful pieces.

This is coming out so beautiful! I love seeing it getting so close to being done. Those extra pieces were requested by a customer and Keith thought that it would be nice to have an ‘add-on’ pack for those who already bought the set. Lots took advantage of the new pieces, so I guess the nativities will all be full! I can’t wait to see the finished project. It will be awesome!

Beautiful work! You have the patience of a wise guy, Andrew. I love the stars in the sky… er, in the cradle. And sorry but I can’t help it: the wise guy you’ve finished has a Halloween mask kinda face in his crown. I can’t not see it.

Wow, they’re looking great, Andrew! What a lot of work. Maybe the additional figures could be a “surprise” gift for next Christmas. 😉
