And life goes on. With the cold weather, I’ve been doing more indoor stuff like working on some quilt projects. Like this:

Not the best picture, but this is a 17″x13″ placemat. It’s part of a set of four. There no better stress reliever than to cut big things in to small things and sew them back into big things.
Or you can write poetry. I’ll work on one of those later this week.
If you need me, I’m in the sewing room ignoring the news.
Good enough reason to stay ensconced in art or poetry! I’m doing the same.

Your placemat is very good. I too enjoy sewing small pieces of cloth to make something new. It is fun. Thank you.

I got lucky on the colors — found the fabric in a storage closet at church.

Your placemat is gorgeous! And thanks for the chuckle over “cut big things into small things and sew them back into big things”. Sometimes it’s better not to apply logic to hobbies. 😉

Logic doesn’t apply to why we do it either — cheaper and fast to buy placemats at the store.

But not nearly as much fun! Besides, you couldn’t buy placemats that nice. 🙂

I wish I could say that would be worth your time, but I will never (ever) get to it. My arthritis makes it impossible.

I am determined to get back to a creative mode. It is hard sometimes when we feel the world around us is failing. But there is something productive about sticking your head in the sand. As always, your quilting is beautiful. Remember there is good in many people. I love following your posts and feel as if we are friends. Thank you for that.

As a poet, I have to say that I sometimes find creative energy in difficult times, but sometimes you just need to rest your brain and give it time to build positive energy.
