I am not writing this weekend. Just too much going on. Instead I was reminded of a project I did about four years ago and decided to share a few pictures of it. Here it is:

3D Spaceship Puzzle.
Yup, it’s a rocket ship puzzle. It stands about 12 inches and is on display in my living room. Last week we did a little furniture reshuffle and I had to move this one. It’s made from 3/4 inch thick cherry and was cut on my scroll saw.
Here are some other pictures:

Putting together one side.

What looked like with the pattern glued on. Yes, two space people live in the ship.
I’ll be writing more next weekend and have a new marquetry project that I’ll have a picture on Wednesday.
Till next week,
Andrew
That’s really neat. I’ve never seen anything like that!

I love that. I can think of so many people who need one as a gift. Maybe not a spaceship… Do you make those puzzle boxes?

I tried making a puzzle box, but it didn’t work out so well. I might try to make one again.

The space people are cool. There are four, but the picture only shows two. It took about 8 hours to cut and finish.

You are a talented and gifted craftsman indeed.
This reminds me of Joe Stariani’s “Surfin With The Alien”

It reminded me of all those bad 50’s SciFi movies I watched as a kid.

That is really, really nice, and a lovely alternative to the computer.

It was fun to make and I try to spend as much time in my shop as I do on the computer. Doesn’t always work that way.
