Heather is a great artist and has been doing a lot of oil painting. Today it finally happened – she took three of her paintings down to a local gallery that features local artists. They’ll be on sale for the month of May. Here are photos of the paintings:

“Low Tide”
11×14
I love this boat. I can just see me walking down the beach.

“Friends”
11×14
Puffins on a rock. This is a gallery wrapped painting.

“The Potter”
16×20
This is a painting from a photograph of a real English potter. Heather visited the pottery a few years ago and captured this scene of a potter working a large pot.
All three paintings are at the Down Gallery of Art at 1213 Lincoln Ave in Willow Glen. The gallery just opened last month and features paintings from local artists.
Those are really nice paintings!

Congratulations to Heather! These are fabulous and I wish her luck on her first feature of some of her paintings. In the first one the sunset is almost blinding – amazing how she achieved that and I love the puffins. I saw these birds in the wild in Scotland and they are just adorable as on this painting.

The puffins are adorable, but the boat is so well done. Heather has an eye for color.

“The Potter” is very good. Lots of movement captured, not just in the whirring pot, but in the folds of the shirt and presumably the muscles underneath it. Getting these into a gallery is a great achievement and an excellent first step to fame and fortune!!
