With the little libraries mostly done, I took a break to get some progress on the cutting garden project. It’s just about ready to the wire screen put on. First it needs a little paint to protect the wood. Here’s what looked today:

View from the side with all the main beams up.

There will be two screen doors where. The stack of slabs are for the walk ways between the planter boxes.
Next weekend I hope to get the doors built and some of the wire up. The slabs are heavy, so I’ll see how long I can put off working on that part.
If you need me – I’ll be out back with a roll of chicken wire.
Andrew
I am eager to see what you grow in your cutting garden. I am eager to see the finished structure. I’m not yet able to visualize it properly. And it’s good to hear the Little Libraries are almost completed. That’s a delightful project for the recipients. A lot of work for you!

Ooh, can’t wait to see this one finished. Is it your own design? It doesn’t really matter, just curious as you are so incredibly talented. Did I mention that I want one too!?

I did design it, sort of. The basic idea came from a botanical garden my wife and I visit from time to time. The design of this one is mine, but really just basic carpentry. I’ll see if I can mail one to you. 😉

I love DIY projects especially outdoors so I’ll be interested to see what this finished project looks like. Right now, I can’t figure it out, but that’s okay because I can look forward to finding out. 🙂

Please take care with those slabs. They can be so uncooperative when you’re lifting them around!

I will, it was a big job moving them to where they are – as you say some were uncooperative.

My wife is saying some vegies, maybe winter lettuce or a few flowers. I am still not sure it’s legal to grow lettuce inside chicken wire.

I put out a good image of being busy, but there are whole minutes during a day when I do nothing.
