It’s been a great time so far, except for the cold I managed to get this week. Mostly over that. Here are a few pictures of the country lodge we stayed at this week:

Back of the lodge
Here’s the front door:

See, it’s “the lodge”
And finally a view from the top of the hill nearby:

View of the countryside.
We’ll be on the road soon and I’ll be back to writing next week with a post on either potatoes or weddings or possibly about hops and the adventure of the Hop Pocket.
Till next week,
Andrew
What an incredible view!

A place that’s that old – hmmmm – did they put you to work? 🙂 Welcome home!

I didn’t get put to work, but there were a few parts I think I could have improved…

What a quaint lodge and in such an idyllic setting too. Hope your cold has passed and you’re rested and ready for more!

Now I’m confused. I thought you were somewhere around Malvern. This view could be from three but it also looks very like the Weald of Kent – where hops are grown in abundance. Where in the world are you? 😀

We are in Malvern. That view is from the hills facing Herefordshire. They do grow hops around here, but likely not as much as they do in Kent. Lots of cows, sheep and horses around here though.

I wonder how old the lodge is? It looks to have been cozy for a couple hundred.

I think it was originally built around 1880, but recently restored and turned into a guest lodge. It can sleep up to six.
