I spent some time in the shop this weekend building our cat, Boots, a new bed table. Boots is a big cat and she’s outgrown the small table I made for her last year. This is another project built from my scrap pile. Here it is just after I put the carpet on the top:

I should swept the walkway before I took the picture.
Here it is in Boot’s room with her bed on it.

Her little box is underneath, so I guess you could say Boots has a two-story suite.
I tried to get a picture of the bed with Boots in it, but every time I came in her room she jumped down and ran to her food dish. Crazy cat.
If you need me – I’ll be in the shop,
Andrew
It looks cozy. And tall. Are you hoping all that jumping up there will give her some exercise?

Boots refused all requests for a picture by hiding under the couch.

My husband makes cat scratching contraptions. When he retires, he wants to make is a small business. This table bed idea is one I will have to tell him about.

The table is simple – just a plywood top covered in cheap carpet I got from the big box store. You could add all kinds of fancy to this if you wanted. I’d be interested to see if he comes up with something.

I am thinking he will put tubes of wood wrapped in swine below the table so the cat can scratch to his or her content.
