Wednesday Driveway Gardening

We’ve expanded our driveway garden with a new raised bed:

The new raised bed.

The driveway here is huge – enough room for four cars.  Since we only have two, we’ve taken one space to expand the veggie garden.

The other bed:

The crop in the first driveway bed. There are peas and corn. The chicken wire keeps the local wildlife at bay.

We should have some peas in a couple of weeks and corn right after that.

Heather has made some face masks for us and a bunch for our local hospital.  Here’s the one she made me:

    Where did your wife find that particular material? A pattern of donuts can’t be found just anywhere.

    I wish our weather would clear up. I’d love to spend some time outside.

    Your raised beds look great and your kitties are so darn cute. But that mask….donuts?? That mask would just make me want to buy and eat and eat and eat donuts. Just what I don’t need while we’re sheltering in place! 😉

      The kitties are loving it, people here all the time and the two humans are known to give out extra kitty treats. One of these days I’m going to wear that mask to the donut shop and buy a dozen chocolate glazed. 😉

    I’ve always thought raised beds would be the only way I’d get into gardening. But I’d want them waist-high!
