Wednesday Working — Wall Hanging Done

I finally have a completed project to post. I’ve been working on this wall hanging for a long time. Last week I completed all the quilting and the binding. Today I made some wall brackets and have hung this over my cutting table:

Here’s a close up:

Next quilting project is a table runner and in the wood shop I’m working on a table. Neither are worth pictures at the moment, but hopefully next week I’ll have some progress to report. Until then, if you need me, I’ll be at the table saw.

Those L-pieces create a bit of an optical illusion if you take in the whole quilt long enough. M.C. Escher comes to mind. I like how each of the nine quadrants has a slightly different look.

    • The pattern is called “Bento Box”. All the fabric pieces are rectangles of different lengths. It’s an optical illusion for sure – I had trouble when sew this top to make sure that each piece went where it was supposed to. I do like now that it’s done.

  6. That came out beautiful, Andrew. I haven’t done much quilting, but I did one piece about the size of yours several years ago. It is hanging in my eating area of my kitchen still. I love your piece and look forward to seeing the runner. 🙂
