We’ve had a couple of heatwaves here at Camp Gran so we haven’t been out in the shop as much as in past years, but we’ve managed one project: Paddle Boats!
The boat is made from a pine board we bought at the big box store and was cut on the scroll saw. We got the pattern from Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts magazine. We made two. Grandpa did the table saw work while Mr. A helped do some of the scroll saw cutting. Both kids did the glue up.
Since Monday it’s been near 100 degrees outside so no one’s wanted to go out and do any painting. Sadly we might not get to the painting stage before camp closes this Sunday.
Likely I won’t have a project for next week as I expect to have collapse from exhaustion at any moment and will need a few days to recover.
If you need me – I’ll be in the shop

Well, at least add a couple of camp counselors. The eagle and I would be an excellent choice. In our respective humble opinions. I’ll bring my drum set (you’ll have to move your couch to the shop) you play the piano, and we’ll delight the campers with a Lawrence Welk medley.

🙂 We could have used a couple of extra counselors and the kids would love to have a drum set around.

I’ve been in a paddle boat once when I was in high school. It was fun. I was out on a date so the stars were shining and everything looked romantic.

What a great paddle boat you made! You could go into business just making toys. 🙂

I can’t believe you threw that boat together in such a short time. You are good, Andrew.

Thanks, I get by. and you could do it too. All it takes is years and years of practice. 🙂

Alternatively (the universal male code) look away as if barely interested enough to say it:
” I do all right.”
