Here’s a photo of something we’ve not seen a lot of in Northern California for a few years. It’s one of the best Christmas gifts we’ve ever had.

Christmas Eve rain on our deck.
We’ve been blessed with a rainy week and so far the rain total is near seasonal normal. First time in about four years. There is a hope for a wet winter here.
I did check the Drought Monitor web site and found that this recent rain has pushed the drought back from, “Exceptional” to merely “Extreme.” If the rain keeps up we might end the year with just “severe” drought conditions. It’s hard to think of still having drought with the rain, but with everything so dry the rains just soaks into the very dry landscape.
I want to thank all my followers and commenters who take their time to read my little bits written here. May you all have a Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday session.
Peace to you and yours,
Andrew
Hi Andrew. Crazy weather! Thank you for liking my poem Returning! Best wishes. The Foureyed Poet.

Hurrah for rain where you are Andrew! We get a lot here in VA but i still love to hear it, see it, feel it, and everything smells so fresh afterward…..

We’re hoping for more next week. Here in CA we get maybe, a fourth of what you’d get.

We here in Southern California are still a long way from having enough rain. Glad that parts of California are getting a lot of the wet stuff. Looks like El Nino will be upon us soon and hopefully there will be lots of rain for all the State. Merry Christmas to you and yours, hope you had a happy holiday!

I have a some hope in El Nino. The problem is that even a normal rain year won’t end the drought, even up here. Still we need it. Have a great New year.

I hope it continues for you 🙂 Over here a lot of people are wishing they’d put a canoe on their Christmas list. Not much balance in the world, is there? Very best wishes to you in 2016, Andrew, and thanks for your continuing support. 🙂

I live next door to you, Tennessee. Although the rain is preferred over ice, the amount we’ve had is horrendous. I don’t walk through the wet grass in my yard. I wade through it.

If you could figure out how, just send us your extra rain. We’ll take it off your hands.

I’m pretty frustrated with this drought. While Arizona catches up to 70% of their rain water, California loses as much to the ocean. What’s with that?

Me too. You’d think with California right next to a large ocean that we’d have plenty of rain. I don’t get it either.

It’s so strange! North west England is knee deep in floodwater, with more to come. And so many places in other countries are so short. Hope you get lots more rain!

The weather folks are telling us there is a chance of above normal rainfall, which would be nice. If you can figure a way to send us that floodwater, we’d take it off your hands…
