First, thanks to all who are following this blog. Over the weekend my follower count edged just over 3,000. I appreciate all of you who take the time to read my little writings I post up here in cyberspace.
I mentioned in a post a while back that I’ve applied to attend a couple of poetry workshops this summer. Almost good news here as the one I really wanted to attend (and the hardest to get into) sent me an email yesterday saying that I’ve been put on their waiting list for an opening. This workshop only accepts about 30% of applicants and while I didn’t get one of the seats outright, they said that they liked my poetry and added me to the short list in case there’s an opening in the next two weeks.
So a “good” rejection. 😉
I haven’t heard from the other workshop yet. I’m not going to name them until the selection process is completed.
My cold kept me most out of the workshop, but on Sunday I managed a little time and finished assembling my assembly table so I can assembly other projects …
The table is on wheels and holds my air compressor and air tools:

My compressed air supply
and the surface for building stuff:

Some of my common assembly tools. I do have bigger hammers if needed.
That’s it for this week.
If you need me – I’ll be in the shop.
Andrew
Wow, congrats on both the follower count and nice rejection. I can honestly say your blog is one of my favs, so it doesn’t surprise me others feel the same. Good going!

3,000! That’s impressive Andrew, but I am certainly not surprised. Your website is interesting, diverse, entertaining, and you maintain a level of self disclosure that is balanced and engaging. I have full confidence that the right poetry shop will have an opening for you soon, and boy I could use that cart. Thank you for your most excellent blog.

Is that the cart you cut in half? Looks very functional (words from somebody who knows nothing about wood working…) And the Zen AGMA (who doesn’t come out very often) says the workshops will work out the way they are supposed to. If not this year, then next… Faith & patience Grasshopper.

Yup, that’s the famous “cut in half” cart. I’m sure I’ll get into at least one workshop this year. Just wish the process didn’t require that much patience.

Nice assembly cart. It is a good feeling to have an organized workshop.

I’ve used this for 5 minutes and I like it already. There are more things I’d like to do to organize my shop. Hate going out and having to spend 30 cleaning up/finding things before I can work.

Keep putting yourself out there for the poetry workshops, Andrew. You have a talent and I’m sure the right one for you is out there!

Nice cart! And congratulations on your subscriber milestone and your not-rejection (after all, it isn’t a rejection until it is). 😉 Fingers crossed that you still get in!

In the five minutes I’ve used the new cart – I like it. The odds aren’t in my favor on the workshop, but little hope is better than no hope.

Three thousand followers is quite impressive. Congratulations! I’ll have to check my followers and feel bad about how few I have. : ^ )

The workshop isn’t all that tidy, I’m just good at not photographing the messy part. 😉

Great news about the workshop (both the poetry and your work space). Here’s hoping your name is at the very top of that wait list.

It would be nice, but the odds are a bit long.

Thanks – odds are it won’t happen, but it’s the best response I’ve had from these folks ever.
