Wednesday on the Catio

We’ve been busy with a lot of projects lately, but nothing really picture worthy yet – except for the kitties. We had a catio built for them a few months ago and have been outfitting it with fun kitty things. Last week I used my new table saw to make a couple of shelves to attach to the side on the enclosure for them to sit on.

So far it’s a success. Here’s a few pictures of the cats enjoying their new seating area:

I’ve not been posting much the last month as it’s outside time here in the desert and there are a million projects to catch up on. This being our first year in this house, there’s a lot of things we want to get setup before winter.

    Your cats really have the life. Those delicate pink flowers are so pretty. There are some growing wild in the green space at our nearest freeway entrance. They look so fragile and lovely.

    I’d never heard the term “catio” before your enclosure but it certainly deserves its own word. Reminds me of the setups they have for the lions and tigers at the zoo.

    I was going to ask if there is a roof on your kitty domaine, but then I spotted the umbrella. I think those kitties have it made. I imagine there are some pretty big wild cats around and the caging is necessary.

      There is a “lid” as the installers called it. That is chain link covering the top. We have an umbrella and a shade cloth cover not shown in these pictures. There are plenty wild animals around here. Coyotes and hawks are most common so the kitties have to stay inside or in the catio.
