The winter day dawns cold
with the promise of rain on the grey horizon.
A light dew dampens the leaves
of the trees with the dry roots.
Green grass pushes up to greet the sun
in its short moment of life.
The sun climbs
warming the cold ground and burning the grey away.
Clouds bleached white by the sun
a gentle breeze from the sea pushes them lazily along.
Our lungs fill
with the fresh clear air.
Clear blue skies
cause the soul to drink in deep.
While our eyes
see the rain gauge standing empty.
Warmth and light
keeping away the nourishing rains.
The dreadful beauty of a
warm winter day
that leads to the dry summer and the season of thirst.
You get two poems this week. I did read chapter 3 about Tuesday in the book, The Last Week, but some minor medical issues have diverted my mind from writing so I’ll have to post about that later. I’ve been spending a lot of time working on the cross instead of writing. I’ll have progress pictures of that tomorrow.
Till next time,
Andrew
Love the cross! What material is it made of?

Personal life got big for me this week and I have wondered what to do about regular features I have started that are gaining momentum, the fact my time/attention is so used up elsewhere this week etc. First time blog and life have conflicted with one another for attention. I wondered how others handled this.
“Our lungs fill with the fresh clean air” short term answers it for me. Going out for a walk as it is the first sunny warm day we have seen for weeks. Thanks for reminding me of this.
