Friday Wisdom – Wall

My dear old daddy (and he liked being called my dear old daddy) said:

The great thing about beating your head against the wall is that it feels so good when you stop.

More wisdom next week,

Yesterday at work, I told your “duck walks into a bar, and asks for grapes” joke from 2 weeks ago. After the groans subsided, I was told this one in return…It was told with the same sort of “repeating” set up as the DGJ (Duck Grape Joke).

A little turtle begins to climb a tree slowly. After long hours of effort, he reaches the top then jumps into the air waving his front legs until he lands on the ground with a hard knock on his shell. After recovering his consciousness, he starts to climb the tree again, jumps again, and knocks the ground heavily again. The little turtle insisted again and again, jumping and hitting the ground with a thud. A couple of birds sitting at the edge of a branch watched the turtle with sympathy. After several jumps, the female bird said to the male, β€œDear, I think it’s time to tell our little turtle he is adopted.”

My daddy said the same thing. And he was right. I’ve tested the statement many times, always with the same result.

  6. Ha, ha! Sometimes the obvious choice is easily missed. :Makes me think of my folks…’Mum/Dad, it hurts when I do this.’ Response, ‘Then don’t do that.’ If only it were always so easy!! D Happy weekend Andrew πŸ˜€
