In between a couple of days of painful gout, I’ve gotten a few things done.
This last Saturday, my grandson came over and helped me hang some drywall in my soon to be shed workshop:

By helping I mean that he did most of the work while I gave instructions and helpful advice while staying out of his way.
I was able to get a couple of hours to work on the table saw and now it’s ready for the final adjustments. Hopefully, I’ll have this running next week:

and finally, when I thought I might be stuck inside to let my knee heal, Heather and I went to the fabric store to buy fabric for the back of my quilt:

Also, summer isn’t too far away and here in the desert that means afternoons will be too hot to go outside so I wanted to make sure I had plenty of indoor projects ready to go.
Seems like a lot, but it’s amazing what you can get done even if you can only work for a couple of hours at a stretch – and have a strong teenager around to do the heavy lifting.
If you need me – I’ll be looking for my gout pills.
Grandsons come in handy sometimes. I wonder what makes them so helpful when they’re so lazy at home.

Well, more of a wall hanging, but yes, I sewed it and will be doing the quilting on it.

Machine or hand quilting? It’s very handsome.

Machine quilted. It’s a pattern I bought years ago and just finished this winter.

Everything looks like it is coming together nicely. Will you be cooling your shop at all in the summer? Just wondering . . .
I hope you continue to improve with your gout. 🙂

I have a small AC unit that I’m going to use in the shed workshop. The table saw is in a garage that can’t easily be cooled, but even in the hottest weather here there are a couple of hours in the morning I can work there.

You need to stand on your head Andrew. Ask your grandson to give you a tap on the head and use it to drain that awful uric acid off. I hope you stop suffering soon.
Hugs

Your quilt is so attractive and I think it’s great you’re moving forward with your projects. So sorry about the gout, however. I have indeed heard how painful.

Even when my body isn’t working right, I try to get a little bit done.

Here as well. I’ve had fibromyalgia for two decades, but it doesn’t define me. Just rules my days though! Every three hours or so everything melts down, but a 25-minute nape will give me another three hours. Sure better than it was at its worst!

It’s all about adapting and doing what we can when we can.
