Friday Wisdom – Hot

Just so you have some responses to the question how hot is it?

It’s so hot that:

chickens are laying hard boil eggs

the cows are giving evaporated milk

you leave tire tracks in the asphalt

you need potholders to touch the car steering wheel

water from the hot and cold taps are the same temperature

the corn in my veggie garden is popping

you can’t make a chili dog

I saw a fire hydrant chasing a pack of dogs

A few bonus thoughts:

What do you call ice cream on a 115 degree day? Cream

I was walking by a farm yard on a very hot day when I heard a pig say, “I’m bacon.”

Where did the storm troupers go to cool off: The Darth Mall

Just went to check on my air conditioner and it said, “I’m your biggest fan!”

  3. Too hot for me! I wilt at 85Β°! My sister and brother-in-law in Arizona are living in an easy bake oven like you are with temps up to 125Β°. Don’t know how you all stand it….I know, I know, it’s a “dry” heat. πŸ˜‰

  8. Aww – I am so sorry you are suffering from the heat. I used to live in the Chicago area and we had many hot summer days (before air-conditioning was the norm) and spent them in the pool. The nights were killers though. I never could deal with that well.

I now live in Nova Scotia and when I first arrived here, I couldn’t understand why hardly anyone had air conditioning. I figured out soon that even though we get warmer weather in the days, the nights are (mostly) nice and cool. There are only a few sticky nights per year, and I can handle that fine.

I don’t envy you, my friend. Stay cool and safe. Happy Weekend.
