Friday Wisdom – Not the miles

When I’d complain about something my dear old daddy would often say,
“It’s not the miles you walk.  It’s the rock in your shoe.”

More wisdom next week,

Wednesday Woodworking – Digging it

I’ve made a little progress on the enclosure for our cutting garden.  Just finished one side and two of these:

Second post hole. Four to go.

Second post hole. Four to go.

On the left you see my posthole digger, yup I dig post holes.  Damn I’m good.

Here’s a picture of the digs:

No reason to work in the hot sun when you've got a popup hanging around.

No reason to work in the hot sun when you’ve got a popup hanging around.

I took this near sunset so the lighting isn’t that good.  This is the current mess.  I am hoping to get a lot more work done on this over the long weekend.

If you need me – I’ll be out back diggin’ holes,

Andrew

Back from Vacation

Last week was vacation time.  Wednesday I posted this picture:

Guess where this is.

Guess where this is.

Dan correctly identified this as Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe.  Heather and I rented a cabin near Tahoe City on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe.  The youngest grandkids brought their parents out from Florida and  joined us for a week of fun around the lake.  At the end of the week we loaded up and headed into Reno where we all had the pleasure of attending our older daughter’s wedding.

We just arrived home a couple of hours ago and are just plain exhausted, so that’s it from here this week.

Friday Wisdom – Big money

A favorite of my father:

Did you hear about the man who went to jail for making big money?

It was about a quarter of an inch too big.

More wisdom next week,
Andrew
