When I saw the title, I was worried about where this one would go. Glad it didn’t go there. (It would in my house, of course.)

This has nothing to do wirh you Dad’s wise saying… But when I told my dad I was going to move in with my boyfriend waaaay back in 1976, he said, “A man’s not going to buy the cow if he gets the milk for free.” Such a super guy…. We’re getting ready to celebrate our 39th wedfing anmiversary. He was wrong and I HATED being referred to as a cow….

my father never gave advice on that subject other than, “Be careful, you don’t want to spend a lifetime paying for a little weekend fun.” Or “Don’t do anything that requires bail money.”

There is a difference. Bragging is more of an exaggeration. Like calling yourself a genius when you’re not. However, calling myself a genius isn’t bragging, just the statement of a simple truth…

That is the funniest way I have ever heard that idea expressed. Just to make it funnier. My grandmother and grandfather called my sister “toot” and once I came along I was dubbed “little toot”
