Lately I haven’t been in the shop much.
Winter time weather has arrived here California. Which for us is a little rain and colder temps. This affects my woodworking as part of my shop is in the unheated carport and when temperatures drop below 55, it’s not fun working there and things like glue and finish don’t work so well. Production levels will be falling and Wednesdays will have fewer posts.
Then this last weekend I had a bad cold.
Thanksgiving weekend before that, our Spottie kitty had to have emergency surgery for an intestinal blockage. She’d eaten some long dry fountain grass and it got stuck in her throat and stomach. We spent many hours (and dollars) at the emergency veteran hospital. The good news is that she’s fine now.
Well, there will be a few sunny afternoons where I can get an hour or two of wood work done, but I’ll have to slow down on the bigger projects until spring. I do have a small indoor workshop with a heater where I can do some scroll saw and marquetry work – and possibly move bigger outside projects to do glue ups in the warm.
I’ll also be doing more writing,
and digging up that fountain grass in the yard.
Peace,
Andrew
